Red peak light on my "NAD Digital Preamplifer 118", what is it?

So, I just got my new amplifier and sometimes I play really loud music, but then a red peak light starts lightning?
Anyone know what this "peak" means?

Yep
It means that your amp is at its highest.
If you want to play at that volume, without damaging it. Then turn down the bass, the lower tones take a lot of power.

Have an NAD myself.

The peak on an amplifier is when the voltage/current going through it is at it's physical peak so by adding more current to it's peak will do nothing expect distort the music and it may damage the amplifier.

Think of it like this, Amplifiers work with an AC (Alternating current) and the peak voltage is literally the top of the electronic pulse which is all the amplifier can produce so you are at the redline where it simply can't do any more and by doing so will damage the speakers. Don't bother getting a new amplifier because even if you get one the speakers may not take that sort of current it's producing.
