Write a detailed in-canon back-story how your character obtained these authorizations.Although Sean took an instant disliking towards the Universal Union and all affiliates, he still helped them if asked. What other choice did he have? Be beaten and thrown into a cell for 'malcompliance'? So, grudgingly, he helped them out if they demanded it. One instance of this is when Sean was walking through the plaza, on his way to Precinct 3. He was just infront of the Nexus when he was approached by two Civil Protection units, an RCT and and 04. The 04 tossed Sean a rag and pointed to the RCT's boots, telling him to clean them. Sean, even though making his objection clear through excessive sighing and hesitation, proceeded to shine the RCT's boots. For his efforts, he was awarded a ration, and the two officers left him to his own devices. Fortunately, they forgot to take the rag back. This would come in handy later.
Sean, having opened the contents of his awarded ration pack, was again disgusted by the quality of the supplements. He brainstormed for alternative food sources and one popped into his head.
Sean spent most of his time in Precinct 3, away fromt the combine and most of the combine supporters. He got to know the area well, made a few contacts within an establishment aptly named, "The Castle" and, with the help of his trusty flashlight, explored most of the area thoroughly. He came across the sewers, and with it, the alternative food source. Rats.
After many attempts to catch one of the diseased ridden furballs, Sean gave up. When he was lucky enough to catch one, the sewer water they were usually drenched in helped them slip out of his hands, scurrying away into the darkness. He decided he needed something... Sharp.
Sean made his way out of the sewers and into the canals. There he found some scrapped cars. On one of the scrap cars was a bit of metal suitable to his needs, and Sean spent a good ten minutes pulling the scrap bit free. Satisfied with the quality and shape of the scrap metal, Sean looked around for an appropriate place to sharpen the crude blade. He found a rough boulder, and began scraping the metal alongside it. It took hours but eventually, the scrap piece was sharpened to an exceptable quality.
Sean then wrapped the rag from earlier around the bottom, unsharpened half of the blade, creating a neat barrier between metal and flesh. The rag also provided sufficient grip for Sean's purposes.
What will these authorizations give your character in regards to perks or defects?Perks- Ability to skewer rats!
- Could possibly be used in self defence!
- Could possibly be used to avoid conflict!
- Might be a good toothpick!
Defects- Easily found during a search.
- Considered a weapon, if found with it by a CP, could spend considerable time incarcerated.
- If I were cut by it accidentally, I could contract tetanus!
What do you plan to do with these perks/defects?Kill rats as an alternative food source.
