IC Character Name: Zekiel Baker
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.Zekiel Baker wishes to join the CCA for multiple reasons. The first being that even when he wants to stop those who are disrupting the peace of city 45, he only has the power to report. He wishes for the power to bring justice to those who are only there to bother, disrupt, and kill. He wants the peace of a harmonized society to be maintained in city 45.
The second reason was the benefits. The very first time he recieved his loyalist points was when he returned an MP7 to unit 117. Not long after that, he was given Loyalist status by the same unit. Rations were handed out and a unit issued 2 rations. Zekiel was shocked to see the sudden extra ration increase. He was told that it was for his loyalist status and congratulated on his clean record. He realized that the things he is doing have rewards.
The third reason being that he realized he cannot trust his friends. He was shocked to learn that they had plenty of crime points on their files, and he reported any of the ones whom he knew were a threat. He was close friends with them, but he did what was necessary to protect society from them. He even had watched a friend die in front of him from a report he sent in, but he understood that it was necessary.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)His beatings and bullying in school have shaped him into what he is today. He has become distant, attentive, and trustworthy.
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.I hope that it will be a tough learning experience. I want a fresh, rich, and well played role play experience in my time as a CCA officer. I understand that doing that also entails being able to remember the large sum of radio codes. But I believe I can do it and make RP better for everyone as a whole.
But for Zekiel it will be hard considering the fact that he doesn't form relationships well. He will work hard to what he wants to achieve as a CCA unit. He will make sure he makes no mistakes and if he does he shall take full responsibility. He also hopes that this will give him a chance to do something about those who wish to disrupt social harmony rather than report it and not be able to do anything about it himself.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words. 1995-2007: Zekiel and his sister, Maria lived with their parents Lexine and Jeremiah Baker. They had bought a farm with what remaining money they had in Canton, Ohio. Zekiel had been educated in the local Elementary school in the community, but due to his shy and timid nature, he hadn't made very many friends. His qualities also led him to be bullied by many of the students in his class. He had endured through his harsh time in the school until he had graduated.
2008-2012: After graduating from the school, Zekiel got the money he needed to live a proper life by doing odd jobs on his family's farm. Having been bullied heavily, he grew to become a sort of "open book." He soon made quick friends with a young woman in his time in highschool, whom went by the name of Mariah Traughtner. Their friendship quickly grew, and they began a wonderful relationship with eachother around the 11th year of their highschool education.
2012-2015: Zekiel continued his job on the farm, money and work becoming harder and harder to come by. His mother was going on a walk through the town where she was mugged and killed. This put a heavy load on Zekiel's psyche, and he was depressed for quite some time. His father, Jeremiah taking it the worst, he became a drunk. Zekiel was only brought out of his mood when Mariah admitted that she wished to marry him. They both agreed that times were too hard, and held the marriage off until they could actually handle it. In Zekiel's off time when he wasn't seeing Mariah, Jeremiah taught Zekiel how to fly an old plane that he had rebuilt from an old war.
2015: During one of his lessons in the old plane, a strange broadcast had come up over the radio of the plane. Cities were falling to some strange unknown force that was sweeping over the world via large "openings in space." After his father heard this, he ordered that Zekiel parachute from the plane. Confused and too frightened to question him, he leaped out while he watched his father fly to one of the openings, never seeing him again. The might of the Combine was crushing society as a whole. All Zekiel and Mariah could do was watch.
Mid 2015: As the Combine force swept the entire Earth, people were transported to cities all around the world, the city Zekiel and Mariah called home being City 18. Zekiel had made many friends in the city whilst under the boot of the harsh CCA force there. Some being rebels and others even Loyalists. He owned a shop in the city, and had ran out of a certain product that was requested highly by other civilians, Zekiel asked Mariah to perform the job of getting the shipment and she happily accepted. While on her way back, a report over the city of Necrotics flooding the plaza was played over the speakers. As Zekiel exited the shop, surrounded by zombies, he saw Mariah not far away. As she was running, a vocoded "FIRE!" screamed across the plaza. A dark energy ball ripped through several of the beings in the plaza, one of them being Mariah.
2016: Zekiel had been stricken from shock and fear heavily due to seeing his loving girlfriend desintegrated in front of him. In his dazed state, the CCA of City 18 ordered that several civilians be transferred to cities across the world. Zekiel being one of them was transferred to City 45 of Vienna, Austria. Zekiel was a broken man. He had lost friends, family, and loved ones. Seeing no other path to redeeming his previous life, he made the final decision to become a Loyalist.
