IC Character Name: Emily Slade
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.My character has a backround of being a nurse (Auth'd) And she wishes to be part of a SHIELD unit so she can put what she's learned and knows to use in real situations. She is a quick learner, and she has a lot of fire. She follows orders and doesn't ask questions (Unless it's like, something unthinkable I.E suicide etc.) She is eager to serve the city well and help the Civil Protection as much as she can.
She has a history of pain, gaining a small resistance to it. When she was handing a doctor a scalpel the patient flung up, hitting her hand and causing her to stab the scalpel straight through her right palm. She has a history of keeping a calm head under pressure. Her thoughts to herself are 'If doctors can't make me go insane nothing can."
She makes friends easily and tries to be nice unless ordered or provoked to do otherwise. But she also makes enemies easily, seeing as she spends her free time being harassed by the locals. She has a very basic fighting experience, getting into many fights in Primary School, Middle School. Highschool and College. Out of all the things she want being a SHIELD unit outweighs them all.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)She is well tempered. She has been under stress before and not started biting off ears (Handing tools to doctors and keeping patients alive)
She follows orders almost to the dot every time.She was being bossed around by many doctors at once and surprised them in her exemplar efforts

She can keep a level head in the most dire of situations.Had to handle many crazed drug fueled patients yelling and attacking her and controlled the situation properly
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.Well, i see it as a chance to learn about the Half Life 2 world better, and see it from the eyes of a Civil Protection (I've always been looking at them as a citizen) I think My character will get to see more things, and broaden her abilities aswell as my own medical abilities. Which i already think are slightly above average.Also i am aiming to keep the city safe, judging that i can be up at all times of the night.
Also i think it will be a fun experience. Getting to be something that in the past has been my enemy. I wont turn down a chance to learn more about role-play and literally 'Put myself in their shoes'. Also i notice there are many things i see that the Civil Protection aren't there to help with. So i see it as a chance to catch the 'Bad Guys'
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.Well Emily is a level headed person, making her good for the job. She hates people that break the rules, if one person follows the rules what gives you the write to not follow them? She see's the CCA as a mentor, being as they're powerful, organized. And sometimes they can even be nice. She also has medical abilities, and a history of helping people who rank higher than herself with small tasks. She is good at finding things and wants to put every one of her skills to use in the CCA. She has done small medical operations in the field. And she has an ability to hurt when necessary, to the same extent as she will help when necessary. She has the skills, but not the tools and trusts that if she gets the tools. She will become an actually useful person to have around. She has learned the quickest way to make people calm is through their hearts (If you get what i mean.) Also, she see's herself as useless as trash, unless she joins the CCA. She has street skills as a side note, living in London she gained a broad sense of how to tell people to fuck off nicely. And she knows how to make someone be silent easily.
She has been in fights with children and adults alike before the war, beating anyone below her own standard low to the ground and keeping them there. She thinks to herself that if she gets the job, she will be able to keep the citizens in their place. She has no idea how to fire a weapon but as i said before, she learns quickly and is eager to learn aswell. Which i think is what will keep her alive in her struggle to gain a SHIELD title
