IC Character Name: Ashley Bennet
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.Well, the reason that my character, Ashley Bennet, wants to join the CCA, is because he feels that he knows unlike the rebels, that the combine is the only way to know that you will be safe in the longterm rather that the short term. When the combine won the seven hour war, he soon decided to stick to the motto "If ya can't beat 'em, join 'em.' He also sees an opportunity in the CCA that corresponds to his backround which I will detail in his back story.
Before he realised that a good move to join the CCA, Ashley was living on the streets, in people's apartments or wherever he felt safe, but soon he was betrayed by close friends who shot him for the supplements he carried. luckily he was only shot in the foot, and the CWU managed to patch him up. Once he was back onto his feet, he felt that it was his duty to report any criminal in the city to the only people who could do somthing about it. He soon became a regular to the buttons of a request device, and gave up anyone to the CCA if he KNEW they were doing somthing wrong.
After all of this time reporting people to the CCA, Ashley could never really get any satisfaction. He knew that he was doing good by reporting the wrongdooers, but he could never get any personal satisfaction with the work he did. Before he knew it, he had gathered enough points for a loyalist armband. Shortly after he recieved the armband, a member of CP had detained a criminal, as reported by Ashley, the CP told him he would do a good job in the CCA. The realisation hit Ashley like a brick wall. He thought that within the CCA, he would be able to punish every criminal that he came across, and he would have fufilled his duty. So on that day, within the hour, he applied to join the CCA.

3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.Well, as I have had a CCA character in the past, with very different traits to those of Ashley's, I expect that I will have a completely different experience to what I have experienced in the past. I expect that Ashley would be able to demonstrate his persuasiveness, and be able to deal with any problems patiently and lawfully. The main thing I would expect to have if Ashley joins the CCA, is fun! If Ashley does make it into the CCA, I would probably expect him to join either the APEX or GEAR divisions, as Ashley is impressed by both the technicallity of the common city scanner, as well as the advanced techniques of combat of APEX. I would also expect my character to bond socially with the other units around him, and make friends within the CCA, and also many other social aspects of life within the CCA.
I expect that in the CCA Ashley will be properly trained to deal with any situation that the citizens of C45 throw at him. I also expect that there will be plentiful roleplaying opportunities within the CCA, so that way, Ashley and I will be able to enjoy these experiences whether they are short, or long. I also expect that the people training Ashley will be hard on him, but fair, as they too were trained as he will be trained. The final thing I expect in the CCA is that I'm sure I will make many friends in character and Out of Character, and continue to roleplay with my mates.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.Before the 7-hour war, Ashley was a twenty-three year old male who was attending university with a double degree in Civil-engineering and Law. Luckily he managed to survive long enough to be thrown into city 45. Ashley was bullied for most of his life, even by adults, for his seemingly feminine name. Although he suffered this bullying even after he and his fellow citizens were carted into city 45, he kept his head high, and tried his best to live life according to the authority of the combine, they were in charge now, why bother to argue? As the old saying went, 'If ya can't beat 'em, join 'em" right?
Many of Ashleys friends couln't understand his way of life, and they tried to live criminally rather than working together, and one night, Ashley was shot in the foot by his close friend, and was then mugged for his supplements and last token. He crawled with all his strength to the nearest CWU medical centre where they managed to patch up his foot.
Ashley was not happy. Once his foot made a full recovery, he wanted to find the man who shot him, but found out from a citizen that that man had been arrested by the CCA for level one contraband. After finding a place to rest that night, he felt greatly unsatisfied, and once he awoke in the morining he thought that maybe, just maybe, if he helped the CCA get rid of any criminal he could find in the city, he might be able to get a feeling of satisfaction.
That was when Ashley Bennet started to root out any piece of evidence or any criminal he could find to the CCA, and his loyalist points soon began to pile up. After he had attained loyalist status, he still felt no satisfaction. But one day during a detainment of a man dealing steroids, A member of civil protection told Ashley that he would "Make an alright CP if you live long enough." That was when Ashley had another spark. He thought that if HE was the one punishing the criminals, he would be able to finally get the satisfaction he craved.
5) Have you ever had a CCA character here at Catalyst Gaming? If so, explain why it was removed.Yes, Unit 937. I lost him because I went inactive for a long period of time without informing anyone, and I found out he was gone when I logged on next.

I was one of the few people who had a weapon that helped fend off the ghouls. Luckily we managed to beat them, and the people who helped defend, were rewarded with bottle caps and ammunition. (May not sound like much, but... it.. was... AWESOME!)
