IC Character Name: Jonathan Caleb
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.Jonathan Caleb is a calm and collect man. He is never very critical but despises imperfection. Most of his political views are based on socialism and its advantages for an entire community. These beliefs molded the way he thought about the world since he was young. Most of these beliefs lead him to become very loyal to the Universal Union, which he saw as a communist and socialist government.
Jonathan saw socialism as a way to equally distribute goods among everyone. He believed that because everyone is created equal that they should not only have the same rights but the same living conditions also. When the Universal Union took over, he was nervous and scared, until he realized this was the chance for a near perfect society. He welcomed the combine as the planet's ultimate protectors and did all he could to assist them.
Jonathan Caleb was too young to actually be a leader for the Union, only finishing high school. Still, he saluted their appearance on broadcasts. With the arrival in a new city, he decided to send an application and possibly partake in becoming a member of the Metro-Police Force. The new city would keep him from being recognized by strangers while he is off-duty. This was vitally important to him considering his social attitude while living in his last city for almost a year.
Jonathan Caleb was a vivid loyalist to the community. Compensating whatever he had to support the Universal Union and its efforts among civilized society. He wanted to join because of his admiration and respect to the Combine authority and their assets. He appreciated the values that are given than an average citizen or loyalist would to the community. He wanted extra privileges to assist his fellow citizens maintain a stable environment.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)His views are very black and white, believing that any criminal offence threatened the community. He called anti-citizens 'insurrectionist', reporting any and all of them to the Metro-Police. He believes in the Puritan views for work, that virtue and honesty lead to worth not only in religion but in society.
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.Since I have joined the server, I noticed a lot of good role-play among the Civil Protection officers. Joining I believe would not only contribute to my development, but to the development of the other Civil Protectors. My character is very social, possibly being able to exchange interaction among others in his rank. Going up the ladder, I also would have to transition to a darker and more sinister mentality, seeing as those higher-ups suffer from more brainwashing then others.
OOC'ly, it would relieve a lot of stress and time. It has been a while since I have actually joined a real community and I wanted to be a part roleplay that is canon. I also could exchange some creative ideas to others in the Metro-Police Force from previous experience I've had. I feel also that I could add to the roleplay of my fellow Civil Protectors with the distinct persona I have. There will also be a lot of restrictions involved being an officer also.
I imagine being in the Civil Protection environment like being a sheep following the shepherd. I will make minor decisions myself and let the higher-ups make the major changes or choices. That is unless I move up the ladder to a position of commanding units, then it might be a very different situation. Still, I will learn to transition nice and easily and possibly keep logs for myself to stay on track.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.Jonathan Caleb, age 27 and born on 1989 in Atlanta, Georgia, was shy and very young. He was confused mentally and politically growing up in America, feeling sympathy for the poor and envious at the rich. His parents didn't notice any of these traits in him, not paying much attention being busy with a dozen jobs to keep the family income stable. Growing up in elementary school, he learned to try and keep out of mischievous groups even if it meant being a loner.
During Middle School, he was placed in mainly honors classes. The classes let him hang out with kids that were friendly and smart as he was. During eighth grade, he got in a fight with a six grader that called him poor. He gave him a bloody nose and was placed in school suspension for 3 weeks.
During high school, Jonathan lost a good number of his friends. It didn't keep him at the top of his level during the first and second year, failing the GED he attempted to take. Being stuck in High School until he graduated. Shortly afterwards, he had a very bad car accident and suffered minor brain damage.
Upon graduation, he wasn't able to join college because of his family's economic status. He worked in fast food chains and other stores trying to help pay the bills and fund for his college. During the portal storms, a swarm of headcrabs had killed both of his parents.
He joined a refugee camp in a heavily fortressed city. Living out the years in agony and pain from suffering the hardships of the never ending storms that consumed many small rural towns and cities. He ate whatever he could, but felt slightly enthusiastic at the idea of everyone getting their fair share of food. He tried to ration what he could, while supporting the military. At some point, resistance from the storms was becoming weaker.
The combine attacked on the Seven Hour War. Jonathan retreated from the city, realizing fighting back would be futile. He hid in the outlands with a group of others. When the bombs quit falling and airships stopped flying overhead, he traveled back to the city. Soldiers from another world grabbed him and placed him with rows of others, preparing to filter out military and police officers from regular civilians.
Jonathan sat around mostly in the city, helping out all he could and reporting in crimes to the officers. Although they barely noticed his actions, Jonathan continued to help and gather points. After receiving his loyalist armband and also a store permit, he felt proud, the years of Breen's water and brainwashing made him forget his wretched past, looking only towards the future. Seeing himself in one of those masks to serve the society and its inhabitants.

What’s your most memorable quality RP experience?I used to be a Vortigaunt on OB, a DvL on RRP and OB, a Legion on InfusionGaming and an NCR, a super mutant, I used to have a couple other Metropolice characters. I also had a CA. Probably the most memorable would be the DvL, so I'll share a story about him.
A long time ago, my friend on a Vortigaunt character was passing the checkpoint. On my DvL character I was currently on intercepted her when she tried to pass illegally. Without metagaming, I charged her with trespassing, beat her in a back alley, and dragged her to the cells. I didn't feel like killing her OOCly, but considering the amount of anti-citizen points she had, I decided to. She died in the execution room and I threw her in an incinerator. On my Vortigaunt character, we had a funeral about a few days later when we realized she had died. It was kind of sad, and my friend left the server OOC'ly, but I kept on playing.
At some point I left the server. The rest of the Metro-Police were very undisciplined when it came to reporting at ten minute intervals and such (might've pushed them too hard). I left the CCA through lack of roleplay and server inactiveness. Then I left the server completely.
