IC Character Name: Cassandra Loriet Davidson
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.Although Cassie has remained neutral throughout her time in the city, she feels that joining the CCA will help her understand both sides of the coin. She has spent a great deal of time with either side; that being for the Universal Union and against it. It is about time that she learned the inner workings of the new 'government' that has been oppressing the public. She hopes to further her understanding of the world around her.
A bit of a more personal reason, Cassie wishes to be able to better converse with her Civil Protection friends. The idea of becoming a part of the CCA hadn't crossed her mind until some of the units start suggesting it. She seems to have an odd way of becoming acquaintances, if not friends, with members of Civil Protection. Since she used to be an introvert, Cassie takes every chance she can get to surround herself with friends.
Cassie has had to deal with the abuse from CP, leading her to believe that if she becomes a part the group, the mistreatment will lessen. She hopes that the horror stories she's heard about some of the members will be outweighed by the benefits. She isn't in it for power, mostly for better treatment and more comfort.

3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.Seeing how Cassie has no combat training, a big chunk of her time is going to spent being taught how to fight and building up muscles. This is true with most recruits, but Cassie isn't exactly the cream of the crop when it comes to physical things. She also has a strong distance for violence, which is something she'll need to overcome due to the nature of her job. Overall, the first few weeks/months are going to be harsh. Cassie has an image that the life of a CP is a cross between that of a cop and a job in the military.
As for myself, I'm hoping it will be a blast. I get to interact with civilians under the guise of their superiors. I've always been interested in the inner workings of the CCA. The different divisions with their different jobs, the huge layout of the Nexus, all the different personalities clashing against each other; these are just some of the things I look forward to. There is also the aspect of a completely different side to RP. My character is no longer the one being oppressed, and it's a different environment. I'm not limited to just sections of P1.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.Soft piano music began to fill the sun-lit room. A middle-aged woman and a very young girl sat at a bench in front of grand piano. The woman’s fingers gingerly glided over the ivory keys, a beautiful score echoing from the innards of the instrument. Beside her, the young girl held down chords, assisting with the performance. While they played, the young girl looked up from her concentration and towards the woman.
“Mama,” she questioned, “will I ever play as good as you?” The woman smiled warmly, the sun’s rays making her long, blonde hair glow. After around a minute, she stopped playing, turning her attention to her daughter.
“If you keep practicing, my Cassandra; practice makes perfect.” The girl examined her own hands, and then she lifted up her mother’s and looked over them as well.
“Are you sure it’s not magic?” Letting out a light laugh, the mother pressed on the girl’s nose, making a honk sound to go along with it.
“If I am magic, it must run in the family,” she joked. “But even magic needs practice, so, can we continue?” The young girl nodded, placing her hands back over the keys. The sweet melody began once again.
Cassie woke with a jerk, the music being replaced with the sound of gunshots in the distance. She let out a groan, rubbing her face. That house was probably long gone, turned to debris during the war. Her mother was dead. She had died from breast cancer long before the whole ordeal; Cassie secretly envied her. She never had to see her husband deteriorate, never had to see the world blown apart. This was the burden that Cassie had to carry, like everyone else who survived.
She groped at the mattress beside her, wishing that at least her father was still there. He had… how did they put it… too many “imperfections.” Something along those lines. The man, whom she had looked up to, became ill shortly after the death of her mother. He could not survive on his own, forcing Cassie to become his nurse, all while working as a secretary for some no-name company with shitty pay. She had wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps, become a firefighter, but there was no money in that career path, and they desperately needed money.
There was a knock on the rotting, wooden door to Cassie’s apartment. She threw herself off the sunken lump of fabric and springs, dragging herself to the door. The door was unlocked; she had never bothered to lock it. What would anyone steal, her socks? There was nothing she possessed that everyone else didn’t have. The door opened with a creak, and she looked upon one of her neighbors, an old maid, with sleepy eyes. She seemed shaken.
“They’re relocating us.”

7. What�s your most memorable quality RP experience?Back in the day, I used to be a part of a trio of girls who did Batman roleplay. I was the Riddler, and my other mates were Scarecrow and the Mad Hatter.
One particular episode resulted in Scarecrow dieing. Being that we were not expecting it and are of the female gender, we cried a bit ('we' as in the ones who weren't dead'). After regaining myself, I quickly turned the tables and had them crying harder. It was immensely satisfying.
Oh, and the RP was good. That too.
