1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.The Discipline, the Uniforms, the proud Posture of a Civil Authority Unit, all of these things are unique traits of any strong character. Achille JeanBaptiste sees the Universal Union as a master of Humanity, a homogenous force of order and discipline. The aura of the military-life of a CCA Unit appeals greatly to this character. Having your life based on Routine, Strategy, and importance and responsibility, is an impressive and desired Life of Achille.
Achille wants to be a part of something, something great, something unique, something powerful and strong, and he feels the Combine is that something. He is inspired by the shiny boots, the smooth facemasks, and stern attitudes of a Civil Authority Unit, and hopes to one day march in those shoes, wear those facemasks, and be a part of a disciplined and stringent entity that is the Combine Civil Authority. Achille is adventurous and comfortable around opportunity, not just an experience to be a part of something to greater, but to be something greater. Achille JeanBaptiste wants to be more than AchilleJaenBaptiste, he wishes not for an independent identity, but an identity of his brothers and sisters, in honor and discipline.
To patrol the streets of a City as a Unit is a dream not dreamt for Achille, but greatly desired. To Achille, to bear such responsibility as a Keeper of Authority and Discipline must be rewarding and fruitful. And thus, it is even more greatly desired, to be a figure of discipline, of action, of Grandeur. To be born again, an important piece, of a functioning and proud Organization, is the story of this character, and he is impatient to achieve this desire.

3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.I expect Combine Civil Authority to be a wonderful opportunity for myself to experience new Role-play. I think that by being a CCA I will be faced with challenging and exciting RP experiences and scenarios which will test my RP skills and abilities. Also I'm expecting that I will gain more knowledge on the life and experiences of a CCA Unit and the Universal Union in the realm of Half-Life. I'm also expecting more memorable RP experiences from the Combine Civil Authority experience.
I expect my Character's life will be more routine and disciplined, and that this will reflect in my character as well. That I will be able to find new experiences for my character to understand and live through, and add to his life. I expect my Character to feel welcomed and more confident as being a Unit in the homogenous entity that is the Universal Union. Finally, I know my character will be able to develop better and more progressively in the Combine Civil Authority livelihood.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.Achille JeanBaptiste organized his standard suitcase, not in any particular order. A standard undershirt folded inside a standard Jacket, atop a folded pair of trousers, which rests gently but sternly beneath a water can of Bean’s Water, and a Request Device to the right of the empty can. The Train station was not as quiet as it was before arrival, where the sound of one’s own thought seemed as loud as if words were just spoken, but at the time there were none to compare to. It is difficult, to be patient when there is none to spare, fortunately for Achille, his arrival was fairly early. As the Doors were pushed opened by the masses in front of him, the most brilliant light blinded him, and voice beckoned his name, speaking with words of welcome, to your new Life, to City Forty-Five.
On the Tenth of March, in the Year of Our Lord nineteen thousand and eighty-two, a most brilliant light had revealed itself to a two-month early child in the Centre Hospitalier de Universitaire Herouville-Saint-Clair. A name beckoned the child, and he found himself in a new world, with the name Achille beckoning him from the Womb of one who will not be remembered by the pain she had endured today.
Even through his pre-operational years, Achille JeanBaptiste was not a man of action as his grandfather was, and as his father was, though inheritance was important in their family. Achille attended School courses, and tended to his domicile duties. Though He did yearn to ask questions, only to watch others ask, and to answer them, without speaking. He played very little, for he would rather watch other children play, and study them as they would do so. He tended to avoid confrontation, wishing merely to observe and to study. His Father was different, unlike his wife, Achille’s father did not merely stay at home and work at his residency, his father, Julian, operated onsite, working as a Utilities Manager for the canals in Caen. Achille did not study his father, or mother, he respected them, and lived his life in his position in the family, as the child. But regardless of whether Julian had noticed Achille’s passive behavior, the household responsibilities bestowed to Achille were not as a Passive as Achille. Julian began to have Achille cut trees for the wood, and the neck of poultry. Overtime Achille began to be slightly more engaging in his social life through the tactics such as these of his father.
In His Formal Years, Mid-way of his education, Julian JeanBaptise, at the request of the local Police, was to ask his son more assertively about his social life. It was not months ago that Achille JeanBaptiste had become known in whispers as an individual who had experience in gang life. The gang timetable consisted mostly of petty thievery. Achilles silent but effective characteristics soon became a trait most recognizable by the other gang members who soon addressed him as a sub-lieutenant. His family life had been deteriorating; he focused more on school, and gang activities, though finding it difficult to balance the two. Life of any being, in general, is complex and extraordinary to any other being, that an individual is unique, when the individual attempts to find a place in society. It was not longer after the news of a school-body’s hospitalization was spread through the local area, that Julian had learned more about Achille’s Life, than he dared to speak. And it was not long before Julian had learned more about his son, that his son had learned more about His mother. The Cancer virus acts like any other virus, it infects, and it exploits. Upon infecting a human cell, the Cancer virus alters the cell genetically which causes the infected cells to grow at an abnormal rate. This is something Achille knew, as well as the result of an untreated virus. He also knew that Pancreatic Cancer is near untreatable.
Before the winter in 1997, Julian and Achille had moved away from Herouville Saint-Clair, to Lyon, where Achille remained in the International School of Lyon until his graduation in the year 2000. Achille remained with his Father in their roomy City Apartment throughout the Three Years. In this time his connection with his father grew stronger, even if they didn’t talk all of the time, they still knew each other very well, what the other was thinking, or how the other felt. For the last three years of his education spent at an International School, Achille learned much of others culture that he already didn’t know, specifically, the people. His Father had told him, you learn much about a man by reading his Resume, and even more by shaking his hand, and looking him in the eye.
Time seems unreal, that even if it were fifteen years later, the things in life seem to have been happening so fast. Before the Seven Hour War, Achille was lost, finding himself doing odd-jobs in Germany just to be able to survive in society, occasionally drifting through different towns. After his Father died of a vehicle collision in the year 2005, Achille was unable to financially support himself through the rest of his Univerisity years, he found himself attempting to live the only option of a life that he had available. He had just purchased a train ticket from Bordeaux, and Ten years later, he seemed to be doing the same thing. But this time the opportunity that waited wasn’t to survive in the old world, but to begin again, and to thrive in the new world.

What�s your most memorable quality RP experience?The most memorable quality RP experience for me isn't any specific moment in game-time, But rather when the general experience of Role-playing and connecting with your character in an RP situation where an emotion and a deep understanding of the serious of any situation is understood. When you can also feel the other player's attitude, and their intentions, and recognize them as a particular entity. Any person you meet is from a place, they were born, raised, have thoughts occurring in their everyday life, and have just as much emotional effect from any scenario of their characters life as you have, if not more. But when both people understand this, and the gravity of life their character carries with them, then the Quality of RP in that moment becomes one that can be most memorable.
