[Blue Haze]

Journal #1

I go into an apartment and find a completely blank journal. Perfect. Why not take it and run? Well, turns out the reason the owner was out was because he also had a ton of contraband in his apartment. Mike and I were in the apartments talking, due to a sweep through the slums. Anyway, we got the hell outta there once they came in, and we made it out safely. It's just this journal cares about my thoughts a bit more than anyone else does. Including myself.

Journal #2

I haven't written in this for a while. I don't blame myself. This city is terrible. "Welcome to City 34, where the cops make you wanna commit suicide, but kill you before you can!". I swear, the only people that manage to join the Combine in this city are trigger happy, blood thirsty maniacs. If anyone found this journal, **The rest of the sentence is scratched out*. Fuck it. I don't wanna think about it. The people here would make fun of me. It would be a joke. A joke that would draw attention to me. Attention I don't need. None of us need it.

Just your average day. Talk to one of the only friends you manage to get- find out they're some kinda super ultra resistance god- I dunno...
Mike seemed like the type, but today he showed my his arsenal. He always carries around his custom 9MM, but with this.. Wow. He had a wooden crate that looked like a clothes box. It had a shotgun of some sort, an MP7 with a grip, a god damn revolver and other lethal shit. He kept all the ammo behind the crate, and covered it with a blanket. If the units had a search party in this area of the city, the leader would have a damn good night.

Well, the last person in this city who even addressed me by "Karma" just got amputated for capitol malcompliance level one hard core what ever. It's ironic that before he died, they didn't even bother to search him, so he died with his beer on him. I just hope Michael isn't next. He's been apparently put on the C34BOLO list. He can take more than a few units. It's just when they send in OTA.. Well, that's when there's a problem.

Journal #6

I lost the MP7 that Mike gave me. It had a grip, had his name engraved in the side, and he wants to put a laser sight on it. And I lost it. I swear, if he finds out, he's gonna be furious. I'll find it though. Before he does. Hopefully before a unit does.

On an unrelated note, I heard talk about some mountains. They seem to be closer to other cities, but there's a small region that a lot of people go to, according to Kamirov and Kelson. It's called Eynnew Inneuw Innew or Ennew or something. They don't even know how to spell it. Either way, they have some friends that went there and- Eh. It's safe. Safer than here. I'm hoping Mike can teach me a few things about survival, then he and I may head out of the city. I know the path, and it's all mapped out. We call it Rally.

I dont care what journal this is

I'm finally here. This is the only page I didn't completely ruin so I'm not gonna be picky. Anyway, I got here at a bad time. apparently a group called PACT is going around killing people for the fun of it and I'm caught in it. I mugged someone a JURY member. I thought he was against people and others told me JURY was bad. I took the mans 9MM and ran off. I met a man named Jonathan. Hes nice and I trust him. Though he and I went off for supplies and we got stopped at gunpoint. they took the pistol I stole from the JURY man. His name was BLasio apparently and he went missing after I confronted him so they think I killed him. I could care less right now. I also gotta find a new journal still. The good thing is, I me-

I like my drawings. They're pretty. Nah. Mike's suppose to be teaching me a few combat moves today. I dunno how it's gonna go, but I don't really care. Mike's like a god that can never be put down now that I think about it. I duuno anymore, but it's late. I'm going back to my apartment to sleep. I probably won't be writing much tomorrow. Not that anyone cares.

I saw a man get detained today. Straight off the train. Just stepped off and there were two TECH 04 units standing there waiting. I dunno what he did, but they cracked him in the back of the head with a pistol, then tossed his body into the Nexus. He tried to get up, and another one just beat him down with his shock baton. This is what we're against. This is what we're fighting for. We want freedom.

Journal #10

Michael Strenski Karev.
Remember his name. He was shot as I ran. He's probably dead. I don't know where to go. There are refugee camps everywhere but none of them know where this Inew or Innu or what ever is. They're trying to go back into the city and fight the people there. It won't work. They'll have the soldiers in there within twenty minutes. I don't know where I am. I'm sitting inside a small storage room over some canal that ends just a little up. I don't know where to go. This is the end of me.

I don't even know why I'm writing in this thing. It's a waste of time, and it feels too much like I'm talking to myself, which essentially that's all I'm doing. Anyway, I saw two units today. They were mounting a gun onto one of those small barricades you always see them deploy in the cities. I aimed at them, but decided that they didn't see me, and I wanted to keep it that way. I kept going because they were on the higher end of the canal wall, and I was on the lower. I had boxes to keep them from seeing me. I kept going till I found a ladder, which I got up quickly. I'm hoping to not use any ammo on this trip.

We know that's not gonna happen.

I've gotten some what out of the canals. I'm heading towards some factory. Looks empty. This whole region looks untouched by combine. For all I know, it could be an ambush waiting to happen. I'm nearly out of ammo. I only had one mag for my gun, and it barely lasted for a few of those small things, head crab things.
I don't know how long it's gonna be until I get to the place I'm trying to get to. I've been out here
for weeks. I don't remember the last time I ate. Or slept for that matter. Hopefully when ever I                                   **A large picture of a headcrab is drawn.

-t a guy. His name's Jonathan. He seemed nice. I was gonna try and steal anything I could off of him to be honest, until I first confronted a man named 'Arclight' (the man who thought I killed Blasio). Jon was behind a rock watching the whole thing, so when it was over I asked him to follow me. He let me sleep at a camp. He actually stayed up for five hours straight, watching the road, just so I could sleep. He also stayed with me once he found out about what I had done to that JURY member.
I'm really starting to like this guy as an assistant. As a companion. Maybe a little more than a friend.
