John Gerald Sanderson's Civil Authority Application

IC Character Name: John Gerald Sanderson
1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.
John reported a few people trying to beat a CWU and the CCA came an intervened. But one of the men trying to beat the CWU saw John report it and came after him, stabbing him in the stomach and dumping him in an alley. Luckily a patrolling unit spotted him and helped him to the CWU hospital where he made a full recovery. For this reason John believes he owes his life to the CCA and wished to pay them back in service.
He was a deadbeat stuck at a dead-end job until the Union invaded. He feels the Union gave him a second chance at life, seeing as him not completing college did not matter to them. He finally had a chance to do something productive with his life. He saw that chance in the CCA and hopes to snatch it and use it to become somebody and do something productive.
He also wants to join the CCA because he wants to help stop a lot of the violence going on behind the CCA’s violence. He witnessed a man that had his stomach and neck ripped open by another citizen and was emotionally moved. He sincerely hates people that are as morally low as to do somthing like that. He wants to stop events like this from transpiring in the future and make the city a bit safer for others.
2) Please detail your characters traits. (Eg, Pure, Lawful, Trustworthy)
Honest, Straightforward, Obedient, Serious (A bit too much at times), a little anti-social
3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.
I think the CCA will be a chance to re-try a unit for me, as I feel I did not RP my first unit properly. Any remorse as a recruit quickly took a back seat to having fun with the vo-codes and beating citizens senseless. I’ve RP’ed on a few other servers and feel I’ve grown as a RP’er and want to give a unit on CG a second shot. I hope that this character will be a second chance to properly RP a unit and not just fuck around in a CP costume.
As for John, he is going to have to block out the citizens as humans in his mind and put his care for others aside as he is forced to bring harm to the ones he loves. He’ll have to deal with the internal struggle between his want to succeed as a CCA unit and what is right. He does not want to have to beat his friends and becoming accustomed to the constant pain he must inflict on others will be tough. He also has a natural curiosity towards machines and hopes to help fix some of the Nexus’ machines as a GRID unit.
4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.
John was born in a small, rich community and was relatively protected from the outside world as a child. He became hooked on computers at a young age and was way too into them. He blatantly dis-regarded school work, his job, and family to get more time to use with video-games. He breezed by in school, doing the bare minimum to get by. After high-school he attempted to go onto college but hit a wall, as he had not learned the required study skills in prior school years. He flunked out on his first year and was kicked out of the house by his parents.
He worked minimum wage jobs for the next year, working at McDonalds, WalMart, anywhere that paid money. He was a deadbeat. One day he decided he was done and wrote a half-assed, insincere suicide note and put the gun to his temple. But as he prepared to fire he heard an explosion coming from a couple of blocks away. He walked over to the window only to be blown back by a massive force. His windows shattered, buildings collapsed. The portal storms had started.
Suddenly, a blue creature with three legs jumped through his window. He scrambled for his gun but the thing was upon him. The last thing he saw was a blue appendage flying at his face. When he woke up he was being taken out of a pod and being given cloths that he was ordered to change into. After changing he was rushed to an overcrowded train that he was then loaded into. The doors closed with a hiss behind him. Several hours later he was unloaded, blinking into the light he heard a man talking on an overhead speaker. “Welcome to City 45”, he exclaimed.

Yes, I left CG because I had decided to take a break from RP and had him removed.

I played on Catalyst Gaming for a few months (At least 3), left for a while after deciding to take a break from RP, and I have just recently come back.

7. What�s your most memorable quality RP experience?
Back on Zealot Gaming I was a member of the resistance and the leader’s lover had been arrested. He selected a few to go on a mission with him to stop the units before they got her into the Nexus. We ended up saving her and staking out on a rooftop for quite a long time while waiting for the CCA to calm down and stop looking for us. It was an action-packed RP and a pivotal moment of character development as he staked out on the roof and got to know the leader on a personal level.

I, John Gerald Sanderson hereby swear my mind, body and soul to the Universal Union forever so long as I draw breath. I do so knowing that my actions will be held accountable to me and solely myself. I also declare my knowledge that as a Member of The Universal Union that I will be required to perform tasks above and beyond as well as perform ANY task ordered to by ANY commanding person(s). I hereby acknowledge the fact that as a Civil Protection Task-force Unit that I will be losing most, if not all, communication and or past relationship with anyone outside of the Universal Union's operational bounds.
