IC Character Name: David Grant

1) Please write a minimum of 3 paragraphs OOC'ly detailing why your character wishes to join the Combine Civil Authority and what lead your character to do so.
My Character wishes to join the combine due to the fact that he believes that they are helping the world and that civilians are getting too dangerous to start a new world, a better world, and so he wants to deal with anti-civilains in the correct manner and not allow them to ruin the rule of the Combine. He also wants to help the combine after they saved him in the woods from the rebels, he believes that they saved his life that day and he also believes that he owes them his life as he has nothing else to give.

My character has observed the CP's actions and ways that they deal with things and thinks he has the same qualities that would allow him to join the Combine Civil Authority, He does not want to be a normal civilian anymore, and climb up in the ranks so that he can be as proud and majestic as the Combine, he also believes that his loyalist band is the best thing he ever accomplished and wants to climbs up the ranks even more to be a Combine Civil Authority and help them out more to repay them for what happened to him. He can see that the Combine Civil Authority are better fed and stand more strong than citizens to show who is the leader.

He is tired of having people push him and others around and wants to sort them out, Crime is going too far in his opinion and he knows that he cannot fight the rebels on his own, and after doing all the jobs he has done for the Civil authority, he believes that they should allow him in. David wants to join them because he cannot resist the thought of having a better life. Better rations, a bed and authority over the citizens. He walks around on the streets, working and cleaning the city to help the CCA, but still does not feel that that is enough.

3) Please provide 2 paragraphs about what you are expecting the Combine Civil Authority to be like for you and your character.
I expect the Combine Civil Authority to be very exciting, due to the fact that it will give new ways to Roleplay and more choice in what i do, But at the same time i know it will be tough both on my Character and myself, because the higher ranks will be tough on David if he does not do the slightest thing right. The special character will give me the authority to decide what to do in a situation, this could affect me in the long term and thats always exciting to find out what will happen next in my view. Also it will give me a break from doing the same thing over and over again, cleaning, standing in line to get food, and just walking around the streets with no purpose.

But i do expect it to be a challenge as i know it takes a lot of good Roleplay to be one but i think me and my character can handle it, but he will have to do things that he does not want to do, but during his time with the Combine Civil Authority, he will grow tougher and not hesitate to do tasks. Also for my character everything is going to change, he will have a new job and a new life. He will be entitled to do new things and go new places, instead of walking around aimlessly. Everything to do with the CCA will be fantastic and exciting for me and my character, Meetings, Respect, Devisions. The list is endless.

4) Please provide a detailed back-story from an out-of-character perspective on your applying character. This section must be detailed and consist of a minimum of 300 words.
David grew up in a city, he knew what it was like so he was ready for the Combine cities when he arrived, but he still felt as if something was missing everyday and could not put his finger on it. When David was only 8 his father died from cancer, he lived a lonely and sad life for a while, not accepting that it could not have been changed, that his dad could not have lived. He loved him dearly. But he accepted these facts a few years later and started playing with children his age again. He was happy.
David was now 23 and had a new job, he was excited to go to work everyday, he enjoyed it. Most called him mad, but that did not change his views. He was walking when he looked at the sky, The portal was opening. Tanks were already rolling down the streets, it seemed as though the whole army had awoken and was rolling towards this strange object, Dave stood there watching as everyone running past  and began to get worried. Then he heard the gunfire. The booming of shells as they hit the floor, the sound of new guns opening fire, He ran inside a appartment not knowing what to do, this was it. This was war.
It all happened so fast, and before he knew it a year later David had been to three cities and was on a train to another. David had never really thought of transfers to other citys as a sad or troubling thing. He thought of it more as a adventure, To meet new people, Or see new things, Unfortunatly City 18 was not as he expected. He left the terminal and looked around at all the rubbish on the floor, The dirty streets, And someone yelling in the distance, But he carried on. David never really thought about it but what was the Combines cause, he believed that they were here to better the world and rid it of any evil that roamed its grounds, he knew that people were breaking the law everyday, they were breaking into homes, robbing and killing, and being generally abusive to higher ranked people such as the Combine Civil authority and anyone else who stood above them. Once he was at the Plaza he did not really know what to do, Then a Combine Civil Authority approached him and said "Are you new here Citizen?", "Yes" He replied, He studied the CCA, His armour was tough his boots clean and his mask bright, He knew that that was the right path for him, To be as Magestic, as loyal and as proud as that CCA unit and others like him, "If you need somewhere to stay the Union Civil Housing if perfect, Buy a appartment there" He pointed to the UCH and David wandered towards it. Once inside he heard yelling, He looked round to see where it was coming from, He saw a Chinese man being called racial names and being beaten up, he tried to stop the two men beating him but was not strong enough and got hrown to the ground. That day David knew that he needed to help the world and stop criminals commiting crimes like this everyday and the only way of doing that, Was by joining the CCA.

Its kinda true and kinda false, Its true because yes we may have quite a lot of immagrints, but they come here for a new life and to seek oppertunity. Those people want to become British citizens and do, but some like the poppy burners and the ones who take our benefiets should go back to their own country as they do not contribute at all to our society.

Rio was born in Xen, he loved to explore its vast lands and see the animals that roamed it, from a small child, to a fully grown adult. Rio was always a proud, Intelligent, Brave Vortiguant. Who never turned a challenge down. He served as a foor soldier on Xen and protected it from any invaders that came their way. Rio served in the army to show his true strength and attitude. For months he trained to be the best of the best, and when plunged into battle, he did all he could, coming out of the battles with scars and bruises, but he never backed down. Rio sometimes saw things that should not have been seen. His own people being killed infront of him. Family crying over the loss of their son, Friends cradling their friends on the battlefield in their last moments of glory. Sometimes nothing could compare. But he still carried on, knowing that one day it would all end anyway...one day. Rio was exited when he received news that the Vortiguants were to help the humans fight the Combine on Earth. To him it seemed to be a new adventure. He stepped through the portal and was greeted by other Vortiguants who would be helping the humans fight the Combine off, Rio was adventurous and wanted to inspect the new planet so one day Rio decided to go walking about Earth inspecting what ever he saw. When all of a sudden, A bag was thrown on his head, and he felt the heavy beating of stun batons across his face. He could only see flashes while he screamed for help, not knowing what to do. He felt himself being picked up and thrown to the ground. The people tied his hands and legs up, Rio was dazed and could do nothing. Finally passing out, and clapsed to the floor. Rio had his hatred for the Combine, but this sealed it. He woke up in a daze and looked around him, he seemed to be being carried somewhere, two Overwatch Transhuman Arm by his sides carrying him forward, when Bang! He looked to his left and saw a OTA drop to the floor...dead, the other holding Rio dropped him instantly and fired rounds from his AR2. Rio was still dazed and could hardly move, he crawled to cover as bullets ricocheted everywhere. He found it hard to move with his hands and legs tied. OTA were pilling up and firing at the anomynous figures in the trees, Rio found a sharp object on the ground and cut his hand ties, he then tore off his leg ties. He then got up and ran for it as fast as he could, but his wounds held him back slightly. Until he finnally reached a lake, where he fell beside the water and dipped his claw into it. He lay there, unsure of what else to do. Until he felt a hand, he looked up and saw a figure in some Kevlar, she smiled down at him as he passed out again. He woke up some time later and the next thing he knew he was being dragged away again by two figures, he was placed in a car and drove away to god knows where. He relaxed for a while as the woman inspected his wounds, "Jeff!" She said "He looks preety beat up, shall we get him to the other Vortiguants!?" "Sure!" He replied, trying to raise his voice over the sound of the motor running. Rio was confused, and just lay still. Until the car stopped, right outside some place the humans were calling. The clinic.

I plan to help others in the Outlands out and befriend citizens and other Vortiguants, He will try to fend off the OTA as best he can, but will mostly just try and live peacefully in the Outlands.

Mike was born in a small town on the Outskirts of England, a year after his brother Zak was born. They did everything together, went fishing, played games, and when they grew up a bit, went hunting in the woods together. Mike lived with Zak, his mum, and his dad in a small wooden hut on the coast in a small community. Mike always liked to wander and find new places to explore, he was polite to anyone he saw and loved going in the woods to find new things to do. Him and Zak grew up happily in the town, learning every one of its secrets. They were the age of fourteen when their Dad taught them how to use a shotgun, "Just cock the gun, aim, and fire" He said to them both. After that they went hunting often, only after small animals like birds, or rabbits but they began to hone their skills and catch dinner for the family. Their Dad taught them how to use a pistol later in their lives at the age of fifthteen and fourteen, Thinking they would never need it due to a shotgun being far more than enough firepower, but he saw how much they loved to go hunting and thought they deserved to know. Dad was a Ex-Soldier, and he said he wanted to keep it that way, we never really knew why he did not want to fight ever again, but in later years Mike found out that the possible reason was that maybe he just could not take the life of another human. Zak and Mike were out hunting when they saw it, a small brown animal scuttled across the floor, they aimed their guns at it, it looked up at them, almost confused, But the next thing it did was lean on its hind legs and pounce on Zak, he fell over keeping it from getting to his head, "Hold still!" Mike shouted, he aimed his foot at the crab, Smack! He kicked it into a tree. It reajusted itself and charged again, Mike quickly pulled up his shotgun and fired, The animal hit a tree and flopped there, Birds flew out of the trees, and Mike and Zak just looked at eachother...confused. They ran home as fast as they could, still unsure of what to do. Zak sniffed the air, "You smell that?" Mike sniffed the air, it immediatly hit him, "Smoke!." They ran home to see their Villiage, their childhood, burnt to the ground. People ran out of their homes screaming, crying, We looked behind to see one of the animals we saw in the woods crawling after a woman. It attatched to her face, She went limp. We also saw some strange people appear from the distance, they limped and had huge claws instead of hands, they had blood covered clothes, and were tearing a man apart, limb from limb. We stared in shock, knowing that there was nothing we could do. Their Villiage, Their childhood...was gone. They ran into the woods and saw a metal container of some sort poking out of the ground, They kept running not caring about what it was, until someone charged out of a bush and grabbed Zak, he fell to the floor and the figure put a bag around his head, knocking him out with a mighty blow. The figure seemed almost metallic, his armour looked heavy and his gasmask gave him the deadly look. I kept running, untill Bang! Shots were firing at me, hitting the trees to my sides, i did not look back and slide down a muddy hill, escaping from the figures clutches. Mike made it to the seaside and looked at a cave, he ran inside quickly and found a odd looking rock, all of a sudden a camara popped out of the side and said "Who are you!?" Mike just stared at it "Answer!" He looked at his feet and said "Mi-Mike Grant" The door opened and a man appeared, Mike fell to the hard floor in shock, and passed out. Mike woke up later in a daze and looked around him, he groaned as he looked at a light which blinded him "You are safe" said a anonymous figure standing in the dark, "Who are you?" Mike replied, He came out of the dark and said "Your savior." Mike grew to like the man, and stayed in the cave for a year. Before coming out. To find out what had happened to his big brother.

Well tommorow im heading off to the Coast, gonna check to see if anyone is there. If i do not get killed before i get there Haha.... But you know. Life can be cruel, and Dave taught me that, but i still try and get him to be more...jolly. Dave is a great guy, but lets his personal feelings get the better of him and he thinks that people dying is his fault, its inepitable. Eli is awesome! Always there for me when i need him (Dave is too but i mean this as in emotionally there for me) But Eli never lets me down and always puts me in the right direction. Strange...i do not see much of Skyler anymore these days, ahh well i bet she is fine. But the best thing about being in the Outlands...is the people, the community, it is so welcome and everyone is smiling, thats what makes me so proud to help them, because even in their hours of need, they do whatever they can to help, and i fully respect that....anyway i should be off, getting calls about more OTA, time to deal with them i guess.
