well no, not really, 6870 will be bottlenecked by it, even if it's only slight, its not a bad CPU but's in no way "high end" or "amazing", if you can AFFORD a cpu upgrade it won't hurt and will only improve overall performance

well not if he has enough power and uses the same socket, im presuming the 620 is AM3 socket as it's fairly new, so he shouldnt have any issues with any newer AMD cpu

So, from what I understand, I should NOT get the 6870?, And I want to make this clear, I ONLY have 250 dollars, do I really need this graphic card to be able to play on medium settings with no lag? Cant I get a little bit cheaper one? ( I have no idea about this kind of stuff :>)


Oh, and I've heard that its good to have nivida now? Should I really have Radeon?


By the way, I read that the 6850 is another choice.....Its cheaper and doesn't change much in performance...Would it be a better choice?

amd/nividia is really down to your preference, I've gone with Nvidia most of my live, but I love my current AMD 5770, but I'd still happily go back to a newer card like a Nvidia 560.
Also you SHOULDNT get the 6870 if you're going to stay on your current CPU, mainly 'cause it's going to limit the performance you get from your system, but if your upgrading your CPU there's no reason not to get a 6870, or another card, generaly as long as you have enough power you can't go wrong on a graphics card, as long as you're not buying a laptop card or cards designed for digital deisng (the ones which cost like $3000)
