The Chronicles of RTLK
« on: September 06, 2011, 12:31:29 AM »
So, as you can see.  I am a regular member with no additional ranks and a nice big banned under my name.

Congratulations, CG.  You made me get to the point where I honestly only had three choices, and this is the least destructive.  The following people are to thank:

Adam S
Everyone else who posted in the retar complaint.

Know that while this may be how it is, more likely than not I will be back and reclaim what I took from myself.

Let me share a little story with you...

There once was a gamer.  Lets call him KLTR for now.  He was an administrator of a large gaming community that eventually died.  In order to keep up the legacy of the community, he decided to revive the game and begin working on it as well.  He had a team of people helping him so that it would be good and able to have more done in a shorter time.  But that's past where we are needing to be.

Flash back a few months.  KLTR was addicted to the game.  So much so that  he skipped school, let his grades drop, and refused to sleep for days on end.  This eventually caught up with him and one day he was driving home from school (on a day he actually went) and began to zone out.  He began to hallucinate that he was in the game driving.  At the last second he snapped back into reality before he lost control of the car.  He was driving 40 miles an hour and if he would not have snapped out of it when he did, he would have continued going 40 right into a brick wall and died.  After this episode, he decided to take a break, but was unable to hold himself to it.

Flash forward to his growing community.  He partnered with someone who began to annoy him and go behind his back.  Not being able to control himself due to the lack of any sort of break that he needed from before, he snapped.  The community died after he snapped due to him shutting everything off.

Flash forward 6 months.  No gaming at all and actually enjoying life is what KLTR was doing.  He decided to get back into gaming but only with a few friends in Borderlands.  This led to him joining a new community that was similar to the original one he was in.  As with before, he became administrator, but he remembered to not do it as much.  Staying as just an administrator, he continued to play until the community was shut down because of the owners wanting to pursue life instead of virtual life.  Nothing as with before happened, just another short break where KLTR enjoyed life some more.

Another couple months later saw KLTR joining a community running the same game as the last community he was in.  He played, and as with this story, became an administrator.  The community had another game he had never played much due to it not being his style, but he joined again and began to enjoy it more and more.  Soon, the new game became what he stuck around for.  He became a developer for the community and also a Super Administrator after some amount of time.  He had never been this high except when he was owner, so he cherished the position.  Eventually, he came to an agreement with the owner of the community and became lead developer and ran the day to day operations of the community.

He let this position get to his head partially, more than he should have, but he did not realize it.  Contrary to the belief of the community, he acquired the position he holds in the game not due to his position but due to the need and his knowledge and ability.  He began to reform the game and optimize it so that it could be better for the communitys use.  Eventually a rock tumbled down and caused an avalanche that caused people to regard him as someone who was power hungry and took advantage of his position too much.  While it was partially true, the context of it was being taken way out of proportion.

Eventually it snowballed into an even bigger situation where KLTR was faced with a problem that had three solutions.

Solution one was the easiest, but also the hardest for KLTR.  It was simple.  Reasons stemming from both the game and real life have caused him problems in the past to the point of suicidal thoughts, but never acted on.  KLTR always knows that this is a possibility but will never do so because he values life too much.

Solution two was the worst, causing total destruction.  He thought about it for a split second, dropping the idea almost instantaneously.  He would not let what he had worked on for a while die due to him being in the wrong mindset.

Solution three was the one he chose.  He would force a break on himself.  He removed himself from all forms of power, made it so he couldn't join the game for a period of time, and watched as people made assumptions.

Yes, this is my story (which should be blatantly obvious), for those of you who have not known me long enough:
Community 1: Pulsar Effect
Community 2: Venatus Defero
Community 3: Orange Cosmos
Community 4: Here.

Well RTLK, Personally, I thought you were a good Admin with some flaws. But we all have flaws don't we? So I'm just going to keep this short for now and say that you were a good adminstator. I hope to see you soon.

I will say that this will not be permanent, I just need a break.  I'm not loosing anything, still have my access and stuff, just made a wall blocking me from it for a while.

Its a good idea to take breaks every now and then. I'll have to play a little less because of school.

NO.
SADFACE.
Seriously though, I just start playing on catalyst and you leave me? T-T
Enjoy your break. Just remember now you have no stress relief from sitting in a hospital for 8 hours guarding an elevator.

Karma, this is the problem you always had, and you have always tried to fix it, but it always came back, no matter how hard you tried.

It's sad to see people leave, or take a temporarily break because of their problem.
I hope this will do you good Karma, and I hope to see you back and improved soon enough.
Check out my Youtube channel with all kinds of cool videos including LP's which I'm currently working at. Don't forget to give feedback as well. ;)

I know we act like friends (Well I was hoping that we were friends [and still are]) but I too, noticed the change in you. I saw that when you had Admin, you took respect for what you did... But I actually decided to look at you, once you got Overlord, and I saw that you started to do things regular admins, even superadmins wouldn't do (Breaking rules, giving yourself ranks in HL2RP). I don't want you to go, I would like for you to remain (super?) admin...Just please remove the Overlord rank.
