Cheap-but-powerful laptops/netbooks?

As title - looking for a cheap but relatively powerful laptop or netbook for using in university. I'm not going to be playing Battlefield 4 with ultra graphics on it, but it should still be able to run Gmod without being in the Alienware/Macbook price range. I'd prefer a netbook over a laptop simply because of the added portability. If it's ruggedized - and I don't mean to the military standard, just drop-resistant - that's a bonus.
