My GMOD keeps crashing

OK, when I'm in a server I'll be in the server for around 5min to a hour, than I'll crash.  I don't know how to fix it, I've tried everything, I've tried uninstalling it completely and installing it again.  I've tried to dxlevel stuff in launch options.  I know my computer can run the game, i have been for years on high settings, ive tried to lower the settings and still nothing.  I'm thinking about formatting my computer, I don't want to do that untll im sure I'm out of options.  Any help/suggestions?

Did you try deleting your second garrysmod folder yet?

What do you mean? when i fully uninstalled it i went to program files->Steam->Steam apps -> my name-> garrysmod-> garrysmod and deleted all of that and uninstalled it and reinstalled it

It is weird that your still crashing.

What are your full computer specs and when did this crashing start? Did you install some new PC updates or something.

I started crashing when i was talking to a friend how i was going to play gmod and be a DJ. (if i got accepted) and my friend said i could do window mode (never heard of it till than lol) So i putted it in windowed and that when i started crashing a lot.  I don't remember downloading anything.  I got a little over 3gigs of ram. I use windows 7 64-bit, processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+ (2 CPUs) ~3.5GHz memory 3072MB RAM, (sorry if some of its random info im not really a compputer guy when it comes t this)

Well, that was strange, i was on ocrp for like 4-5 hours straight last night, but today i crash every 2-5minutes.  This is getting very annoying and frustrating.  I don't know what else to do, getting close to the point to format my computer, but i don't really want to format my computer, take forever to get everything back even with my portable hard drive.  Any other suggestions?  I'm taking all at the moment.

Try removing the the OCRP content pack, if it's installed.

I had the same issue, but it worked when I deleted the lua files, then my problem were fixed. Try doing it to.

smt, if i delete my content pack won;t that make it where i see errors?  Also, its not just ocrp that i crash on, its every server, and i crash when im on singleplayer as well now.

I just realized teamfortress 2 isn't working either, keeps crashing and saying hl2 stopped responding

I just fixed my crashing problem, it was xfire and fraps, its good news that i can play again but bad news that i can no longer record minges.  Thanks to all of you that gave me suggestions.

This has happened to me, oddly after deleting all my addons and my cache folder it stopped crashing.
