The Outlands' Inn (Downtime Roleplay Thread)

Keiji finishes digging through his Toolbox, beginning to work on the Combine Device. He whistles a soft tune to keep himself preoccupied whilst he works away.

Ori quickly radios in "Coming back to the Inn, bringing a friend with me."

Ori and the Vortigaunt then walks towards the Inn, passing by a few buildings.

As they arrive to the Inn, he puts his backpack down, near the entrance, then walking towards the Fireplace.

As the Vortigaunt walks into the Inn, he stops at the doorway, his eyes blinking rapidly as he tries to adjust to the change in light. After a moment, the vortigaunt shuffles forward towards the fire. He stands nearby, arms extended towards the fire, fingers on his claws clenching time to time.

Something in the distance can be heard from outside the Inn, something that sounds similar to a fan. The sound grows louder around the Inn, approaching from the lake-side. The sound seems to half-circle around the Inn before becoming quiet.
A large shape seems to pass around the windows, and stop in the Inn parking lot. A figure seems to come out of the un-identified shape, approaching the double-door near the fireplace.
The doors open, and the figure walks in, wearing a beanie, and grey clothes with a kevlar vest. The figure is wet, with what seems to be a pulse-rifle on his back, and a 9MM pistol on his thigh. The figure walks towards the stairs in the front nodding to the others in the Inn.

I'll be upstairs...

After speaking these mere words, Nate Lee walks up the stairs, and around the corner, traveling to an open room.

*Snatch walks into the Inn, Walking up-stairs, Sitting beside Keiji*

"Ahhh....Feels good to be back and have a little sit down."

After he turns his head a few times to check who has arrived, he walked to the middle of the house, below the stairs, and shouted.

"Hey! Anybody got a calender!?"

The vortigaunt, standing by the fire, keeps his claws level with his chest. His head lifts up slightly at the sound of an airboat, he listens as the airboat grows louder and louder before quieting. He turns a few moments later as the kevlar-klad man walks in through the door, he stares at him as he walks towards the stairs, and turns back towards the fire, ignoring the other human who asked for a calender.

"Yeah...yeah, it is."

Keiji then looks back at his device, continuing work on it.

**Edwin pops out from round the corner, exclaiming in response to Ori's question.**

"No- BUT- in the new Byzantium calender, judging from the moons of Venus which are visible only in lemon juice reflections it is the fiftieth of Novocter 93 BV."

**Edwin then swaggers out to meet Ori, saying.**

"Why? Is it important?"

Beans slowly swivels around on the bar stool, staring at Edwin.

The fuck did you just say? Speak some God damn english.

**Edwin turns to Beans sharply, fixing his bow-tie and puffing out his cheeks slightly**

"Something clever. For you information I am speaking English, rather well in fact."

**Layla watches Beans' exchange with Edwin before tossing her cigarette away and heading in towards the inn, in search of Eli or Matt**

After a moment of the conversation between Edwin and Beans, the vortigaunt speaks, his voice low and gravely, not meeting their gazes as he continues to stare at the fire and his claws. "This one is attempting to take pleasure in the fire built by that of your kin, this one asks of the both of you to be silent."

[Dallas]

**Notices the Vortigaunt, raising a brow at it.**

"Oh! An alien, I love you guys, you're so...**Edwin pauses for a moment trying to think of a word but settles on the obvious**"Alien!"

A figure stands on a far off hill watching over the village, the black trench-coat he adorns flaps in the wind as he holds a worn-down pair of binoculars to his glassy eyes. As he watches the locals wander into the inn, he lowers the piece of equipment, spinning on the balls of the knee-high boots he wears, the steel plates grinding down on the dirt as his heavy footsteps move towards an dull-grey armored vehicle, the engine turning it into more of a beast then an item. He steps into the belly of the beast. nodding to his escort, roaring the engine as he moves along the fading tarmac road towards the center of the village, the engine echoing down towards the Inn as the thick vulcanized rubber wheels moves the vehicle.
