STALKER X-ray engine error

X-Ray engine 7.6 has stopped working

is the error my friend gets whenever he starts up Stalker Misery Mod, solutions?

stalker is incredibly touchy about mods, did have the right patch, the right localizations? any other mods he might have had that clashed with it?
